"Dark Water Ranch, located south of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, is placed on the historic Chisholm Trail. The Chisholm Trail markers are within a 1/4 mile of the barns. The ranch name comes from Ninnekah, a Choctaw word meaning Dark Waters. The ranch is proud of the history around it and blessed to be nestled down in the quietness of the valley. We raise Longhorn Cattle, Dairy Goats, Hair Sheep and care for a few bees. There is also a rabbitry on the ranch where we raise French and English Lop show rabbits. We make goat milk soap and candles here on the ranch as well as some crafts and livestock supplies that we sell to the public."
Dark Water Ranch makes several homemade items that include soap, candles, and quilts. Everything they make is made entirely by their family by hand.
Dark Water Ranch makes Beeswax Goat Milk candles using milk from the goats they raise on their ranch and beeswax from the beehives on their ranch when available. They are long burning with low smoke.
I personally can't wait to try their Goat Milk soap. Dark Water Ranch makes it in many different scents. Dark Water Ranch makes their soap in small batches with season ingredients and it, of course, is made by hand. Here is what they have to say about their soap: "Goat milk soap is wonderful, full of vitamin and minerals that are so good for your skin. All of our customers comment on how soft their skin feels when using our soaps. All milk comes from the dairy goat herd, right here on the ranch. We keep a variety breeds, currently there are 22 head on the ranch."
Dark Water Ranch has generously donated 100 coupons for a free bar of Lavender Goat Milk soap that can be redeemed at their booth at the event. These coupons will be in the goodie bags handed out to the first 100 families with a particiapting baby through the door at The Great Cloth Diaper Change. We thank you for your support!
